In the field of prevention, measuring outcome is a challenge. It is important that every prevention based project meet the needs of this challenge to demonstrate that it is the most strategic investment funders can make.
By using a resiliency model we can gather data, based on a well researched approach.
Our evaluation measures are age appropriate and cover the constructs that are indicated to measure a youth’s resiliency.
At this point in our work we are a field based service agency. Our evaluations are designed to be non intrusive and are conducted during field projects.
We have no control group and our measures at this time relate to a single group sample.
Outside factors do play a role in the variance of program results. For example we have no control over what can be happening in a child’s life outside of our programs. However our projects and programs are designed to not only increase but also maintain a youth’s resiliency in the face of adversity.
