“A sustainable tomorrow …."
This phrase means freedom. It translates into being able to do the work without being hindered by the ever present obstacles such as keeping the doors open and keeping quality staff employed with little to no resources available to provide such things. In Maslow’s hierarchy of needs he states that when we are forced to focus on our basic needs of food, shelter, and heat we can not give our full attention to our higher needs such as defining our destiny. A sustainable tomorrow relates directly to our ability to “go higher” in meeting the needs of the children, youth and families turning to us for support and services.”
